Photography at the wedding

Arrange to meet your photographer a week to ten days before the wedding. If that is not possible, set aside half an hour to speak to one another over the phone. Run through the detailed schedule for the day and discuss timings. Ensure your groom knows to arrive at the ceremony at least 45 minutes before it starts. This will give the photographer time to get some nice shots of him, his best man and the ushers. A phone call from you to the best man to advise him to tell the ushers to arrive in good time is probably not a bad idea!

On the day just trust your photographer and leave him or her to it. The best tip for great photographs is just to be yourself. Anything contrived shows. So many people adopt a camera pose. They think they will look better if they raise their chins or hold themselves in. They don't! Adopting an unnatural pose produces an unnatural style.

Pictures are about movement. Keep moving, keep talking and looking into the lens. Keep make-up natural with a matte finish. We warn you not to apply make-up with a shimmer, which will make you appear shiny on the photographs. wacth-out when kissing  the groom with bright red lipstick. You probably spend all day kissing and the groom ends up looking like a strawberry. It is than up to the professional photographer with all his tricks of the trade to make you look gorgeous.

Be careful not to drink too much before or during the wedding celebrations. The groom can usually get away with it, but never the bride. A drunk bride does not look nice and looks terrible in the photographs. Finally, the biggest secret to wonderful wedding photography: A bride and groom in love! If there is real love showing, you will have happy guests and great photographs!
