- Keep it simple - you are not Steven pielberg!
- Two cameras offer more flexibility than one.
- Research your subject and learn as much as you can about the key players and venues in advance.
- Check on filming restrictions with the venues and officiants.
- You do not have to make a documentary. Produce an entertaining, watchable film of the hightlights of the day.
- Make every shot usable. Keep shots simple and slow with no zooms in and out. Hold each shot for several seconds before cutting.
- Do not attempt to reproduce the service and speeches in their entirety.
- Consider using music seguences.
- If recording music, record the whole of it to avoid problems when editing.
- Get lots of shots of guests, especially their arrival.
- Ask someone to be assigned to you who knows close family and friends.
- Shoot plenty of cutaways and film all the details
- Use a tripod to steady the camera when filming the service and speeches.
- Introduce yourself to the photographer and work with them so as not to get in their way.
- Remember to stay in the background observing the event.
