Ideas for wedding sweety tables

If you want your wedding to last until the wee hours of the morning, we propose a sweet way to fuel your guests by means of sugar rushes: a delicious sweet buffet.

After spending so many months preparing for your wedding, the day finally comes and you won't want it to end. You'll probably dance all night long and have the time of your life.  But to be able to stay up that long, some guests may need to replenish their energy sources and what a better way than to sweeten the evening with a sweetie table or candy cart?

We propose that during the dance you offer up a buffet of assorted sweets and even pastries, cakes, cupcakes, and pies.  This will give everyone a good dose of sugar and effectively recharge their batteries. Bar tenders can add marshmallows and other sweets to the cocktails to compliment drinks that are less so sweet.

Nowadays there are many companies specialised in sweetie tables and candy carts who can design a sweet buffet to match the theme and style of your wedding.  If you prefer, these companies can often create a theme inspired by something in particular, for example your profession, hobbies, the place where you met, whatever you can dream of.  The presentation of this kind of buffet is just as important as the delicious sweets that compose it.

And if you are truly inspired and motivated you can create your own DIY buffet of sweet delights.  Here are a few tips:

You will need several containers, whether made of tin or glass, they should match your wedding theme.  Carefully choose sweets and pastries, like macarroons, that will all together match.  What works well is to pick two or three colours and make sure that all the elements of the sweet buffet follow that colour scheme.

Since it is your wedding day, don't even think about setting up that sweet table yourself, you will most likely not have the time.  Get a friend or relative to do it or even a member of the hotel or restaurant staff, wherever you are holding the banquet or party.  To make sure it is set up to your liking, show photos and discuss the setup with the person or people who will set it up.

Finally, if you will be having any guests who are diabetic or celiac, you can include fresh fruit, crackers, dried fruit, nuts or whatever you can think of. You can ask them for suggestions if you like.

The jars, tubs, vases, or whatever you are filling with sweets should not be all of the same height. It is good to create a dynamic of heights, short and wide jars and some tall slender vases.  This will make the table look very interesting.  Also, it looks great when the sweets have labels or sayings and are separated by colour.
