Marquee weddings

Marquees can be magnificent structures transforming even a relatively small area into a wonderful wedding day venue. They can be heated in the winter and cooled in the summer. They can be constructed in and around gardens, against buildings, with window walls, dramatic roof linings, transparent ceilings and level floors.

They are expensive to hire because the costs of extras such as lightning, heating, flooring, linings and furnishing mount up.

If you are considering a marquee for an at home wedding, bear in mind that organizing the event yourself is a lot of work. You are assembling a team and facilities from scratch, which includes catering with a temporary, fully equipped kitchen, furniture, linens, crockery, flowers and decorations, entertainment, chilling facilities for alcohol, and washrooms; you’ll need parking close by and someone to hold it all together – who could be you! The rewards if you get it right, however, are worth it. You can create a unique personal and wonderful wedding day with the boundaries set only by yourselves.

Remember that nothing can be put in place before the marquee is fully installed. In colder weather you will not be ableto lay tables the day before because the extremes in temperature will result in condensation and damp. So hire enough help to avoid doing everything yourself on the day.

Safety, not cost, is paramount when hiring a marquee so opt for a certified company. That means they meet exacting standards in both quality and safety. If they fail to comply they lose the accreditation.
