When to Get Married?

Deciding on the date for the wedding is not always easy, and apart from the preferences of the couple, it is necessary to take into account the availability of the church, the registrar’s office, the banqueting hall, the guests and the weather.

Choosing the date for the wedding is a job for two, the bride and groom. So that everything turns out as hoped for, it is necessary to set a date at least six months in advance and bear in mind the following factors. First of all, if you thinking of having a religious wedding, bear in mind that a lot of churches have long waiting lists.

The time of year will mark the line of the bridal gown just as the place will. If we decide to get married in the winter months, we will have to discard the idea of an open air wedding, and the hair style and make-up will require special attention to avoid that the light and possible rain tarnish the star on the day during the photo shoot. However, the snow offers a lot of possibilities for organising a very special and different ceremony, whereas in the summer, we can be a bit more adventurous and celebrate the wedding underwater or on the beach.

On the other hand, we should bear in mind that weddings have high and low seasons so December, June and Easter are very popular dates, but if we opt for February May or September, we find greater variety and more meticulous attention. In addition, getting married during the week or on a Sunday will work out much more economical than doing so on a Friday or a Saturday.

The guests can also determine the date of the wedding. If you have a choice of possibilities, ask them if your choice would be impossible for them, but restrict this option to family and close friends, in other words, the essential guests.

Finally, the chosen destination for the honeymoon can serve as a guide for deciding the day of the wedding, as can a symbolic date for the couple such as the first kiss, the day they got engaged or the day of their first date.
